A New Marketplace for Hiring Freelancers Online – FreelanceMyWay

by Marv de Leon on Apr 9, 2018

Finding clients is one of the first few challenges that a freelancer needs to address and adapt to. Securing a direct client is possible with adequate referrals and marketing, however, for freelancers who do not yet have an online presence or a portfolio to show, joining a freelancing platform is the best way to start.

Freelancing platforms fill the need for matching clients and freelancers by providing a marketplace where the former can post jobs and the latter can bid for the project.

However, in recent years, clients and freelancers have expressed concerns and disappointments with existing platforms. Complaints range from the quality of the work freelancers produce and the reliability of freelancers hired to the low pay rates and the untimely release of payments from the client and platform side.

These identified weaknesses in freelancing platforms lead to the proliferation of scams, degradation of work quality, and impractical bid ranges all leading to the dissatisfaction of both clients and freelancers. There is no denying the advantages that freelancing platforms provide, however, this does not mean ignoring key areas for improvement.

Introducing a new player – FreelanceMyWay

Taking all of these concerns on working on the key focus areas identified by freelancers and clients themselves, a new player came to address these needs. FreelanceMyWay was launched in January 2018, with the mission to “provide an easy, reliable and safe solution” in connecting businesses and freelancers across the globe.

Led by Joe Daley along with a team of entrepreneurs and freelancers who all have first-hand experience working in freelancing platforms, FreelanceMyWay is here to introduce changes for freelancing platforms. They know the pain points that both parties go through – giving them an insider’s point of view of how key areas should be improved and changed.

Why Sign Up with FreelanceMyWay

For Clients

100% free posting

Unlike other platforms that require client fees on a monthly basis or per transaction basis, clients and business owners can post requirements and openings for free on FreelanceMyWay. The platform earns 20% from all earnings.

Clients can post jobs by providing the Project Category (eg: Developer, Design, or Writing), adding a Job title, description of the work required, maximum budget for the project, duration, search engine discoverability setting, and the skills required to complete the project.

Include details that will help a freelancer gauge if the project matches his expertise. Check this link out for an example of an informative job post.

Access to pre-screened freelancers

With the goal improving a reliable pool of resources, FreelanceMyWay provides clients access to pre-screened freelancers. It requires all freelancers to fill out an application including their work history and personal information that can be verified and subject to approval by their Quality Assurance team.

Freelancers on the site are screened for their expertise, written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, and respect for clients, fellow freelancers, and the FreelanceMyWay team.

Clients can be assured that each freelancer bidding to a project is backed with the qualifications and experience suitable for the project.

Milestone-based payment

FreelanceMyWay enables clients to ensure that they are paying their money’s worth. Clients can set up timelines and goals which are then used as the basis for releasing payments.

We advise to set up clear goals and milestones to ensure that there is an agreement between the freelancer and the client. Misunderstandings commonly arise from vague goals and unclear requirements. Create a Definition of Done and be as specific as you can.

For example, first 50% of the project price will be paid once the freelancer submits the first version of a design logo incorporating all of the agreed design requirements. Full payment will be provided after a maximum of 2 revisions and final approval of the client.

For Freelancers

No bid restrictions

Major platforms have started enforcing project bid limits to freelancers in an effort to curb bogus applications and help clients filter interviews only for highly qualified applicants. This contributes to frustrations on freelancers’ side. Bids are not replenished even when an application is denied so if and when a suitable project comes along, they cannot apply if they are already out of bids.

Since FreelanceMyWay screens every freelancer signing up on the site, freelancers are free to apply to an unlimited number of projects. It respects each freelancer and gives the utmost trust that freelancers are capable to deliver and commit to the deliverables required by the project.

Create a profile by putting keywords of your skills and an overview of your expertise. Once you have your profile account set up and approved by the QA team, you may start finding projects that fits your skills.

Exceptional customer service

Trust ratings of most freelancing platforms have declined due to concerns about disputes, scams, and operation issues. Reading reviews on various sites show that freelancers and clients most of the time are left with no choice when dealing with platform support issues.

Based on reviews, problems are either not addressed immediately leading to a client or freelancer’s account being suspended or issues are not properly investigated.

FreelanceMyWay promises to stay on top of both client and freelancer concerns by providing a fair and timely customer service. This commitment to ensuring both clients’ and freelancers’ needs are met is a welcome change and a breath of relief for those who have experience using other freelancing platforms.

So what are you waiting for? Post a job or create a profile now!

Whether you are a new client or freelancer or one who already has an existing account on other platforms, sign up and see what the new platform has to offer.

FreelanceMyWay aims to change the way freelance marketplaces are done. With a platform backed by a community focused on fairness and respect as well as a feedback-based approach to ensure satisfaction from both clients and freelancers, users can be assured of an improved freelancing experience.
