If you’ve been following previous posts here at Freelance Blend, you would know that I always excitedly talk about the Creative + Entrepreneur Mixer. Ever since I started the event in October last year, the number of attendees grew in size. The best part is most of attendees are regulars. The group sees each other every month and somehow we’ve formed the beginnings of a mastermind group, with more connections established and more friendships formed.
What is a Mixer?
The Creative + Entrepreneur Mixer is a gathering of like-minded individuals. You can be an entrepreneur looking for an accountant, a web developer, or social media manager or you can be the student looking for a digital marketing sideline or an engineer who wishes to start monetizing her makeup artistry skills during weekends. It’s meeting people who are willing to contribute and who are in need of expertise.
So now you might be asking “What exactly happens in a Mixer?”
Because I truly want you to see how meeting others in the business can help you, I made an audio recording of our meetup last February at vOffice in Fort Legend Tower, BGC. It’s a preview of what will happen on the next Mixer on March 9, 2017.
Listen to the likes of Arnel, a CPA and auditor during the day, a photographer in his free time, and a Himalayas trekker (he just ticked off the Everest and Annapurna Base Camps on his bucket list). He shared how he can contribute to the group with his accounting skills, and how he welcomes help in improving the social media presence of his brand, in digital marketing, and in business advising.
There’s Armand too, a Digital Strategist for the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). He’s been doing online marketing since 1994 and specializes in social media branding and in connecting virtual assistants to businesses who need them. He’s open to giving digital marketing tips, consulting, and collaborating. He wants to network with freelancers and find skillsets that he might need.
We are all like Arnel and Armand. We can support others with the skills that we’re good at and we can get help on the things that we need the most. It’s what this community is all about. Plus did I tell you that we’ve got food and freebies too?
Listening to the recording is not the same as being there. If you like what you heard and if you’re interested to be a part of a group that cultivates ideas, join us on the next Creative + Entrep Mixer on March 9, at The Study by Enderun, Podium Mall, Ortigas City from 6-9PM.
