I’m an introvert to the very core.
I don’t like being surrounded by group of people. Maybe because of fear of what other people will say about me.
For so many years, all I hear from my parents especially from my mother is how much of a fool I am, number of things I cannot do or accomplish, that I can’t go to school next week due to sickness.
Plus all the other negative things I hear from the environment I grew up in.
Fear. Doubt. Selfishness.
All negative emotions are filling up my empty heart. I don’t even have any friends.
I really thought that this is the life that I’m gonna live until I die.
But not when I attended the Blenders Meetup.
It was a room full of people with a positive mindset. Full of local influencers. Full of freelancers and entrepreneurs in one room.
Although every time I attend a meetup, I lose my composure and become nervous in front of people, I find it liberating after the event that I was able to stand up in the middle of people I don’t even know or haven’t met before.
This is where I can say my confidence started to change a little bit.
Every time I attend, there’s a mindset shift and emotional change happening.
And because of this new found confidence from the people I’ve met including freelancing legend, John Pagulayan, I was able to get clients who trusted me even though I’m was still in the learning phase.
This event will always be dear to my heart.
This event is the reason why I wanna start my own events.
This event gave birth to other events as well.
As we all say, Marvin is like the Boy Abunda of freelancers.
Almost all freelancers who are actively participating in his Blenders events are being discovered in the market, like me.
This March 2nd, I’m inviting you to join us in the first Blenders meetup of the year.
