A few days ago, I wrote about the importance of having a mentor-figure, somebody who will guide you towards the right path, when it comes to blogging.
This time, I would like to share with you my story how I grew my blog because of very supportive peers, people who are on an almost similar level as I am in this online space.
I met Allan Ngo, blogger at Truly Rich Club Blog and Digital Solopreneur during the Philippine Blog Awards (or Bloggys) last year where both of us were finalists in the “Best Business and Finance Blog” Category.
While watching the program, Allan approached me to congratulate me and we had a short conversation. We found out that we had a common friend, J3 Patino of Game Of Wealth, who I interviewed previously on the show. From there, the three of us thought of connecting and exchanging ideas about our respective online businesses.
From our first meeting, all of us really got tremendous value from each other and that’s why we decided to hold monthly meetings and turned our chat group into a mastermind group. If you are not aware what a mastermind group is, it is simply a small group of people who hold regular physical or virtual meetings, who whole-heartedly help each other out in their respective businesses and who hold each other accountable.
We have been meeting for almost a year now, and I can say that my blog grew by leaps and bounds because of the advice that I got from both J3 and Allan. I believe they can both say the same about me.
It is really important for any blogger, or any entrepreneur for that matter, to get credible and sound advice not just from mentors, but from their peers — people who are on the same level as they are.
It’s fun because you get to share the new discoveries and learning experiences with them. You don’t just celebrate the small wins on your own. One person wins, the whole group wins.
For my upcoming workshop — WordPress Blogging Basics on August 20 — I have invited my peer, Allan Ngo — Mr. Digital Solopreneur himself, to help coach you during our own mastermind session in the workshop.
Allan will not only share his expertise in blogging but also his extensive knowledge about affiliate marketing and email marketing.
Allan will join Fitz Villafuerte of Ready To Be Rich blog and myself as we will each help you in building a blog that you will be most proud of.
Our past student and travel film-maker, Serica Rojas of Serica.ph, said it well:
