Finally, after months of intense preparation, we again opened our doors for our very first Personal Branding Workshop for Freelancers and Entrepreneurs last May 16, 2015 at the Insular Life Building in Ayala Avenue in Makati City.
We had in attendance people from various backgrounds – visual arts, graphic design, web design, banking, engineering, business, education, social entrepreneurship and fashion.
The title of Session 1 of the workshop is “Brand Me Basics: Am I Ready To Build My Personal Brand?” and after sharing with them my Personal Branding Story, Sonny del Rosario of Lifequest helped the attendees discover their own personal brand through exercises such as identifying their skills, strengths and weaknesses as well as their personal value statement.
After which, I discussed the myths, truths and elements of personal branding, provided case studies and then defined what a personal brand is and why everyone should build their own powerful and irresistible personal brand.
I also showed a video to the attendees of Coca Cola’s Happiness Truck advertisement to demonstrate how a brand should evoke certain positive emotions from its target audience and how the attendees should try to do the same.
During the final half of the workshop, the attendees presented their very own Brand Inspiration Boards in front of the class and the other attendees were tasked to guess the brand of the presenter. The exercise also turned out into a mastermind session, where Sonny, April of Manila Workshops, myself and the rest of the class gave their honest feedback about each presenter’s personal brand and gave solutions and suggestions on how to grow their personal brand.
What an amazing experience because we were able to learn from one another and I believe each one, including myself, came out of the workshop as better persons and gained new friends and, who knows, even potential business partners.
In fact, I was surprised to see this comment in social media from one of the attendees (name and profile picture has been hidden since I am still awaiting permission from the attendee). I was very humbled and touched by this person’s kind words and got me inspired to create more of these workshops.
Meanwhile, in case you missed Session 1, registration is still open for Session 2 of the Personal Branding Workshop for Freelancers and Entrepreneurs on May 23rd, 9am to 4pm at O2 Space in Mile Long Building in Makati (note the new venue). You don’t need to have attended Session 1 to be able to sign up for this. We have more exciting guests coming for this event: Ginger Arboleda of Manila Workshops, Showbiz Bro aka Makoy of Machong Chismisan Podcast and Nikki Tiu of AskMeWhats.com.
Please go directly to: www.manilaworkshops.com/personalbranding or click the button above to register! Buddy rates are also available.
Lastly, here are the some snapshots from the event, courtesy of our event photographer, DJ de Leon (@heymissdjdl). (Attendees were also given a free photo session with DJ de Leon so that they can use the professional portrait shots for their social media accounts and blogs. Please follow her in Instagram @heymissdjdl).
This workshops will not be possible without our workshop partner, Manila Workshops, our sponsor, Payoneer (sign up now to get a $25 credit), and partners Insular Life, O2 Space and Raket.ph. Thank you.
